Bed rest after cervical stitch. Avoid heavy work to prevent premature labor or delivery. It went great only the speculum hurts. I think everyone is.
So my cerclage was removed today at 352weeks. For 2-3 days after the procedure plan to relax at home. After the Procedure Post-operatively you will be on bed rest for the next 24 hours possibly in the Trendelenburg position.
You may be offered a cervical stitch if you are at risk of giving birth early. Every time I moved or changed position I could feel something leaking out. Resting in bed is not recommended.
Last pregnancy was emergency stitch at 20 weeks cervix 9mm and funnelled and strict bedrest is hospital for 8 weeks. I was discharged after 2 days. I guess this was the basis of the decision to keep bed rest as 34 weeks is still very early.
Mild cramping is normal and should go away within 3 days after your cerclage placement. Once released from the hospital you will be on pelvic rest no sex for the remainder of the pregnancy. Two days after my surgery to have the cervical cerclage a stitch in my cervix I started to notice what I thought was leakage.
How long should it last when should I. To ans your questions 1 the docs would give you general anesthesia during the procedure 2 they would remove the stitch a few weeks before your due date 3 I did not feel any discomfort after the stitch was taken. Stitch in at 15 weeks and the cervic opened to stitch for the rest of the pregnancy and had flatten as well.
